Demolished church: Anglican Knights want Obiano to fish out perpetrators

As the clergy and members of the  Anglican Church in  Anambra State continue their protest over the demolition of Ebenezer Anglican Church in Oyolu-Oze, Nkwellle–Ezunaka, near Onitsha, members of Knights of St. Christopher in the Church of Nigeria, have joined in the call for the state Governor, Willie Obiano to direct security agencies to fish out those behind the act. Addressing the knights, lady knights as well as the members of the church after praying for divine intervention in the matter, the President of the Knights of St. Christopher, Dr. Ike Okonkwo, said it was unimaginable that such hooliganism could be perpetrated against a church in Anambra State, considered a prime Christian state. He wondered how a group of armed people, allegedly including law enforcement agents, could destroy a church at 1a.m. and up to date, the   state government and the security agencies in the state could not fish them out. In his speech, the Chancellor of the Diocese on the Niger, Chief Nnamdi Ibegbu (SAN), said the place in question was given to the church by Oze village, who are predominantly Anglicans and it had been gazetted by the state government, while the process of obtaining the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) was in progress.
